Three reasons not to install this.
Every camera company has a list like this. Most don't publish it.
- No web or desktop app. RECAM lives on phones and tablets. If you need to watch from a browser, this isn't it.
- Indoor and sheltered outdoor only. A phone isn't weatherproof. Under an eave or behind glass, yes. Bolted to a wall in the rain, no.
- It needs power and internet. Local recording keeps working offline, but live viewing and alerts need a connection. And if you want continuous 24/7 cloud DVR, buy a dedicated camera — we won't pretend otherwise.
RECAM is for indoor and sheltered-outdoor monitoring on phones you already own. Inside that, it's a genuinely good security system.

Can I use my phone as a security camera?
That's the whole product. Install RECAM on a spare iPhone (iPhone 8 or later, iOS 16.3 or higher) or Android phone (7.0 or later), scan one QR code from the phone you'll watch on, and mount it near an outlet. Setup takes about three minutes.
What makes it an AI CCTV app?
The AI runs on the camera phone, not in a data center. It performs human detection, sound recognition (breaking glass, a baby crying, a dog barking, distress), and motion detection, and it's tuned for low false positives so an alert still means something.
Is RECAM safe and private?

From the viewer phone, one tap plays a loud alarm on the camera phone — loud enough to cut through silent mode — so you interrupt a break-in instead of recording one. It keeps sounding until you tap again, with a five-minute ceiling per trigger, and it only ever fires because a person tapped it, never automatically. On an Android camera phone, RECAM turns the alarm volume up to maximum itself; on an iPhone camera phone it plays at whatever volume that phone is set to, so leave it turned up. The remote siren is part of Pro at €1.99/month. It launched as a Pro feature, so nothing was taken out of the free tier to make room for it. And RECAM is not a monitored alarm service: no guards are dispatched.
